On Our Society’s Basis

From what I can determine of the extensive list of quotes in the previous post’s comment, it appears that every last one of them has been taken out of context. I’d be more than happy to quote a counterexample of things that all of those men said in defense of the Biblical and Christian basis for society and the institution of government. I guarantee there’s at least two quotes that I can find to match every one quote of yours!

You’re welcome to get your own blog if you want to rant about religious relativism.

Answer; My major was biology, but i also studied American history. To say 'out of context' is a fallacy. It is a fact that the Founders were strongly influenced by Deism. It is a fact that most of them were freemasons. And i have been told, Christianity and freemasonry are incompatible. Our doller bill, the Capital, etc etc etc, all have abundant masonic symbols. The Founders founded a 'Republic,' not a theocracy. Republic is a 100% pagan secular concept. Its source is Athens, circa 500BC.

"Religion in goverment corrupts both." From about 350bc until the enlightenment we have the mix of religion and goverment, ALL were despotic regimes. Endless corrupt Popes, clergy, etc, etc. We call this the 'dark ages.' My Baptist friend made a point about the Puritans being Godly people. What did the Puritans do to Baptist who wandered into their area? Hang them! Yes, I love all-American pluralism.

Answer; i was under the impression this blog was for free and open debate, if i am wrong, let me know and i will go away. I will understand. I take Jefferson maxim to heart, "If ones faith cannot stand the test of free inquiry, its finished." I may have shortcomings, but myopia is not one of them. I remember in debate class in college, by the 3rd week all the fundamentalist had bailed; free inquiry and debate seemed to be deadly foes. I do not dispise dogmatics, but i do know dogma is a demagogues best friend.(Bertrand Russell)

  2. I thought I was clear. You're welcome to express your own view, just remember: this is my blog, for expressing my views on the issues, and you run a risk by being overly self-confident on someone else's territory. Get your own blog. And you are mistaken.
